wharncliffe side and bolsterstone peak district walk

99. Wharncliffe Side, Broomhead Resevoir and Bolsterstone 20th February 2015

Parking at the car park athe end of Damesel lane we set off west into Glen Howe Park wood but not before experimenting with the slow motion video setting on my phone. This took up most of our attention all the way through this walk. After a few photos on the bridge we headed north west emerging alongside a long field past a farm and onto Swinnock Lane. Turning right then left onto Thornhouse Lane the taking a path on the right we sauntered through the wood and then west alongside More Hall reservoir and continuing around Broomhall reservoir. About half way along the north side we veered off north east through the wood then north and turning left onto Heads Lane into Bolsterstone and the Castle inn for a pint and a sherry. Heading south east and back alongside Moorhall reservoir stopping for some butties and some more shenanigans with the slow motion video. With a boost of bread and crisps we continued along and around the waters edge then basically south east across fields to the car park.
