58. Taddington and Chelmorton peak district walk

58. Taddington and Chelmorton 30th May 2014.

We parked dubiously on Flatt lane on a passing place then turning right onto the Penine bridleway north on Pillwell lane taking a short detour up to the chambered cairns at Fivewells . Returning back to the bridleway proceeding north then turning right onto Senners Lane and down onto the A6. Staying in the layby we took another path right up the other side of the wood to avoid walking on the busy road. Up to the top of the field then taking Slough Lane(Limestone Way) down to The Waterloo pub where they were just opening. Then across the main road and onto Priestcliffe Road and carrying straight over the crossroads (staying on Priestcliffe road). Taking a right turn at a farm gate then right onto another road then across to another farm taking a slight right then left through Rocklodge Farm then right again through fields and back across the A6 which drops down into Taddington and the Queens Arms. Down the road a bit then taking a path on the right then right again and stopping for our sandwiches sitting on a wall overlooking the village. Dropping back down to the village taking the footpath on the left before the junction which was very narrow between a hedge and a hard place! Up and over Slipperlow Lane then hiking up to the trig point at Slough top. Continuing in the same direction to Slough Lane taking a left turn down onto Moor Lane and taking a right and continuing onto Flatt Lane and the car.
